Paolo Nutini

Ciao,

On the 12th January I went to the O2 arena to watch Paolo Nutini. It was a fantastic night and he was really good live. I ended up going to this gig as my best friend at uni bought tickets with another friend and her boyfriend back in the summer, the couple then decided not to go and so I was offered a ticket. And I am so glad I bought it!

I was lucky as the gig was originally supposed to be in October and I had not listened to any of Paolo's albums fully. I know his hits and really like him but had never got around to listening to his albums. I know for a lot of people this is not a big deal but I take my gigs very seriously and do what I call 'gig revision'. Gig revision involves listening to all albums released by an artist and learning all the words, if the setlist is available online and I don't have much time I will just learn the setlist. Personally I enjoy gigs the most when I can sing throughout the entire thing. So as I said I was lucky as the gig ended up being postponed from October to January as Paolo had tonsillitis. Boo for him, yay for me. I made a YouTube playlist of his setlist and learnt the majority of the songs before I went and had a very good time.

As a side note on the way home my friend Libby got stuck at the ticket barriers when we got to Waterloo and the train attendant made her do her 'best disco move' in order to get through the barrier. It was hilarious. Luckily I caught it on film. I love having random memories like that. :)

My first car :)

Ciao,

Just a quick post today, I thought I'd put up the photos of my first car! They were taken on my iphone and have a very ugly background but oh well!

Here is my first car :)

It looks super shiny despite being nearly 15 years old, it's really clean inside too!

BRRMMMMMMMMMM BRRMMMMMMMMM!!

Yay for cars :)

Finally on the road!

Ciao,

On Saturday I finally passed my driving test and I must admit I am still ecstatic today! Saturday was a complete whirlwind, I took my test at 11.11 (lucky time eh) and by 17.30 that evening I was at home having just been and purchased a car. This was completely unplanned and brilliant. My brother came home with his girlfriend as they were bored and also to congratulate me on my driving test and we started looking at cars on Auto-trader, I found one I quite liked and as it was only 11 miles away from my home we decided to go and look at it there and then. This worked out perfectly for me as I had to have both my mum and my brother with me as I would not be insured to drive the car home. The car was everything I wanted and in my budget so it was a perfect first viewing. So I bought it!

It is a dark blue 2001 Ford Fiesta. YAY! It is small and compact but has 5 doors, I didn't want a 3 door car as they are just so awkward and at 5ft9" even I struggle to climb in and out of the back. I wanted my passengers to have the luxury of their own door and to save myself from ever having to get out of the car in the rain so someone can clamber into the backseat. It's a very basic car and at the moment, much to my dismay the radio won't tune in but I can still play CD's so it's not a biggie to wait to get a new radio. I have driven in it everyday so far, once completely alone, twice with my sister and last night I did a trial trip to university with my brother, his girlfriend and my sister. The most people I have ever driven around at one time and safe to say my little car felt the strain of being almost full.

Lots of people name their cars, I hadn't really given it much though but I think for me the name is obvious. Micky. My Dad's name was Mick and I like the idea of him being with me at all times while I'm on the road. I have been completely surprised by how at ease I feel being in a car on my own. Even when I have made small mistakes, as all new drivers do I haven't felt panicked which is great.

I haven't taken any photos yet, which is completely surprising but it was dark the first day I had the car and yesterday I was far too excited by being able to drive myself down to a local Costa so I could sit and finish off my essay. I'm off to a concert tonight so pictures will have to wait until tomorrow!

Monthly Aims: January 2015

Ciao,

And a Happy New Year!

I am writing this post from my bed where I have been for the past 3 days due to being sick as a dog, best way to see in 2015 right? Although it seemed like quite an apt end to the horrendous nightmare that was 2014.

I wanted to go back to my Monthly Aims each month to keep me on track throughout 2015. So no beating around the bush, here are my aims for January 2015.

1. To finally, FINALLY pass my driving test.
2. To lose around 8 pounds.
3. To keep my side of my bedroom tidy to please my sister!

Fingers crossed I achieve those three things this month.
