Bonjour,
It is now only 4 days and 5 sleeps until the wonderful Christmas Day! Woooo! I absolutely adore the lead up to Christmas, although it can be stressful for some, parents especially as they try and get everything done. I came home from university last Friday and spent Saturday evening decorating the Christmas tree with my family while having a few drinks and dancing to music. One of the best Christmas traditions in my opinion. :)
This week I have also finally finished my Christmas shopping much to the dismay of bank account which is minus a few arms and legs :( but I love giving presents so I cannot wait for the big day so I can give them out. I am over the moon as I have managed to find a SURPRISE present for my Dad! He is impossible to buy for, other than aftershave and possibly a few books there is rarely anything else he wants. I personally think men are harder to buy for, not because I'm a girl but because there is just much more you can buy a girl which she will use on a regular if not daily basis. Men who are nearing 50 and have had a lifetime to accumulate all the things they need are even harder to buy for. However, completely by accident I have found my Dad an amazing gift! I had already agreed with my Dad and brother to split the cost of my Dad's ticket to see Greenday as his Christmas pressie but I was sad that he wouldn't have many physical gifts to open on Christmas day as his ticket hasn't arrived yet. Plus I refer to my Dad as the "present whisperer", he is amazing at thinking of awesome presents that people didn't even know they wanted! So I wanted to get him something else as a surprise pressie, now I was at a complete loss until I was in Tesco with my flatmate to buy food for our flat Christmas dinner and I saw the DVD box set of the London Olympics. To reference Despicable Me.....LIGHTBULB! I knew I had to get it! Now I am very pleased with it, I know he'll love it. He has been guessing what he thinks it is, another thing he's very good at it but so far I know he hasn't guessed it as he's talking about buying the DVD for my little sister...I am praying he doesn't or his surprise is ruined.
This week I have also wrapped up the majority of my Christmas presents :). After watching Sprinkle of Glitter's vlog I went on and bought brown paper and red curling ribbon. Simple but very traditional and classic. Now they are all sitting prettily under the tree :D.
Well think that's a wrap (see what I did there :P), I'm loving the Christmas traditions and the general attitude people have at this festive time of the year. Hope everyone is enjoying it as much as me!
MERRY CHRISTMAS! JOYEUX NOEL! BUONA NATALE!
